“If you want your marriage to last, your husband must have authority over your money” – Pastor advises women

A pastor created an online dispute after discussing his thoughts on finances in marriage, suggesting that working wives allow their husbands access to their money.

In a viral TikTok video, the cleric argued that many marriages are struggling because some women keep their incomes completely separate from their spouses.

According to him, financial transparency is essential in marriage, and men should not be treated like strangers when it comes to money.

“Any woman that is working and making money, your husband must have authority over your money. In fact, your ATM and PIN codes, your husband must know them. You will be the one to present the money to him, not your husband asking you to borrow him money,” he said.

The preacher went on to say that women who want long-term marriages should be prepared to provide their spouses with financial support and make their resources available at home.

He went on to say that a lady should honour her husband by using her earnings to purchase gifts and support his comfort and well-being.

“If you go to work and come back with salary, as a woman you should go shopping for your husband, buy him good shoes, clothes and wristwatches. Use all your money to honour your husband and you will see that he will keep supporting your growth,” he added.

Since then, his remarks have sparked conflicting opinions on the internet. While some strongly opposed, others believed that financial transparency should be a part of marriage.

One user wrote, “So will the husband also hand over his ATM card and PIN to his wife?” Another added, “Use all your money to honour your husband in this economy. Yabaleft pastor😂.”
