A Nigerian woman has gone popular on social media after saying that her application for a US visa was denied at the US Embassy.
In a video uploaded online, the lady claimed that embassy officials advised her that foreign nationals, notably Nigerians, were currently barred from entering the United States.
Prior to her meeting, the woman had heard allegations that foreign nationals were no longer being granted US visas. She stated that she initially dismissed the stories as bogus, but decided to attend her interview.
However, she could not produce any official documents or evidence from the embassy to back up her claim.
The woman claimed that prior to her meeting, she had heard rumours that US visas were no longer being issued to foreign nationals. She claimed that after initially rejecting the allegations as untrue, she made the decision to go to her interview.
“Just coming from the US Embassy and guess what? I was denied the visa again. Now the reason for this denial, they said foreign nationals are not allowed into the US.”
She went on to say that the explanation she purportedly got during the interview shocked her.
“I heard about that before I went for that visa appointment, but I thought it was just fake news.”
The woman further stated that she was informed by embassy representatives that even her children, who now hold valid US visas, would not be permitted entry.
“However, I decided to try my luck and they told me that we’re not allowed into the US at this time. They even said my kids with the US visa are not even going to be allowed.”
Based on her experience, the woman advised Nigerians planning to apply for US visas to reconsider their appointments.
“So if you have plans to book an appointment for a US visa, or you’ve already booked, we advise that you abort that mission because they are not giving visas.”
She concluded by alleging that the United States was not allowing foreign nationals, especially Nigerians, into the country.
“The US are not allowing foreign nationals, especially Nigerians, into the US.”
