Hafsat Umar Faruq, a Nigerian medical student, posted a message she received from her boyfriend in which he expressed his unwavering love for her and asked for forgiveness following his marriage to another woman.
On Saturday, December 27, Hafsat posted a screenshot of the message.
“He married someone else and still had the nerve to say he loved me. Love isn’t announced after vows — it’s proven before betrayal,” she wrote.
The man stated in the message that he was too busy to tell her about his marriage earlier.
He went on to say that he intended to take Hafsat as a second wife.
“I ‘m sorry to inform you now but as you have seen it. I got married today but that shouldn’t mean I don’t love you. My plan is to marry you as a second wife,” he wrote.
“Wallahi I wanted to inform you earlier but I was so busy. Please can you find a place in your heart to forgive me. And please don’t be heartbroken because I still love you and care for you. I promise to marry you as a second wife. I love you.”
