Iyanya, a well-known artist, described how he attempted to feature American rapper Nicki Minaj but ended up losing a few million dollars in the process.

After the song that launched him into the spotlight was a hit, Kukere, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuka, and his crew wanted to do more.

He said that when music executive Ubi Franklin offered Nicki Minaj, they felt under pressure and decided it was time to move abroad.

He said:

“Ur waist was so massive we decided it should go international and we needed the right artiste to help with that journey. @ubifranklin1 suggested Nicki Minaj and I asked how we’re gonna pay for that, he laughed and said ‘if your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough.”
