Remi, a media personality, has sparked online reactions after revealing that she has blocked her former best friend from secondary school, citing their differences in life.
Remi stated candidly that, while her friend still expects them to reconnect when she visits home, she no longer feels the bond they once shared. According to her, their lives have taken very different directions over the years.
She noted that her friend is married with two children from different fathers and works as a tailor, whereas she is unmarried and childless. Remi added that during her last visit five years ago, she realized they had little in common and struggled to find meaningful topics to talk about.
Remi, who felt she had outgrown the friendship, eventually blocked her friend’s contact to avoid “pretending” to keep a relationship she no longer values.
Her post reads …
My best friend in secondary school still wants me to keep visiting her whenever I go home, just like the old times. But I no longer see her as a friend, because we are way different now.
She’s married and has two kids with 2 fathers. While I am unmarried with no kids, she sews clothes but is not that skilled.
The last time I visited her was 5 years ago, and we had nothing to talk about she wanted to buy me an eggroll a girl was hawking and “minerals” I told her not to bother.
We do not have anything in common at all again.
I believe I have outgrown her and the friendship, I blocked her contact so she’ll stop reaching out to me. There’s no point pretending to be friends with her.”
