A married woman sparked an online debate after revealing that her husband allegedly asked her to leave their marriage because she went to see her best friend without his permission.
According to a tweet shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @Oma, her best friend had recently returned to the country after spending ten years abroad, and she was eager to see her despite her husband’s refusal.
Read what she said below;
“My best friend came back after 10 years abroad. We were in different cities, and I told my husband I wanted to go see her, but he refused.
Because it had been so long since I saw my friend, I still travelled without telling him. When I arrived, I called him to let him know I was with her. He said nothing.”
She revealed that things took a surprising turn later that night when her husband sent her a message that left her upset.
“Later that night, he sent me a message: ‘Go and pack your things from my house to your parents’ house,” she added.
The woman questioned whether visiting an old acquaintance should be sufficient cause for a marriage crisis, arguing that women are not toddlers who require permission to meet their pals.
The story has elicited diverse comments online.
One user wrote, “Why travel after he already refused?” while another added, “Sending her packing is too extreme abeeg.”
The episode has sparked ongoing discussions on trust, communication, and marital boundaries.
