Alhaji Dahiru Abba, the village chief of Maigari in Kano State’s Rimin Gado Local Government Area, was murdered by gunmen.

Alhaji Sanusi Abbas, a family member who confirmed the occurrence, stated that late Maigari passed away after the mysterious gunmen attacked his home on Sunday, March 5, 2023, shot him, inflicted various degrees of injury on his body, and then left.

Sanusi Abbas, the Kano State’s Permanent Secretary for Judiciary, announced the burial ceremony that took place this morning at his home by 10 a.m. in Maigari Village.

Lawyer Munir Dahiru Maigari, the deceased’s son, verified the incident to Daily Trust.

“It happened around 2am. They came and did what the did. We are now preparing for his burial. We cannot say anything regarding the cause of what happened for now, but he is dead and we pray for God’s mercy on his soul,” he said.

The lawyer added that the gunmen broke into his father’s residence and assaulted him before opening fire.
