2026 Grammy: I'm really disappointed in Chioma, she shouldn't have been half naked — Ossai Ovie

Ossai Ovie, Delta State Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, expressed his displeasure with Chioma Adeleke’s outfit at the just finished 2026 Grammy Awards.

Ovie chastised Davido’s wife in a Facebook post for wearing what he called a “half-naked” outfit, claiming it was inappropriate for Nigerian culture.

Cultural Representation Matters

Ovie pointed out that Chioma’s appearance on a global stage had a big impact because she was a public figure and role model.

He argued that young Nigerian women could be negatively influenced by such fashion choices.

He wrote: “I am disappointed in Chioma Davido’s dressing. She shouldn’t have been half-nked to Grammy. She didn’t represent Nigerian culture well, embracing a half nked revealing Western style instead.”

He further added that Davido, as her husband, should have guided her better. “Cultural representation matters, and it’s crucial. I am disappointed in Davido for allowing her to dress this way. I am really disappointed,” he stated.

Ovie’s remarks have sparked conversations online about the balance between personal style and cultural representation on global platforms.
