Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have rescued five children who escaped from Boko Haram terr0rist enclaves in different parts of Borno State following intensified military operations against insurgent hideouts.
According to military sources, the rescue missions were carried out on June 4 during ongoing combat operations and clearance patrols across the North-East region. Troops of the 82 Division Task Force Battalion reportedly rescued two girls, Aisha Idrisa, 13, and Fatima Abubakar, 11, in the Amuda area of Gwoza Local Government Area.
The girls are said to have escaped from a terrorist enclave in the Sahalawa area after sustained aerial bombardments and ground a$$aults forced the insurgents to abandon their positions. Preliminary debriefings indicated that both children are natives of Pulka community and were allegedly abd¥cted by Boko Haram fighters in 2025.
Military authorities said the rescued children are receiving care and support while efforts continue to reunite them with their families. The development has been welcomed by many Nigerians, who praised the troops for their continued efforts to combat insurgency and rescue victims held by terrorist groups.
The rescue highlights the ongoing military campaign against Boko Haram and other extremist groups operating in the North-East, where security forces continue to target insurgent strongholds and recover abducted civilians.
