In response to the recent outcry produced by Nigerians over Hilda Baci’s breaking of the world record for longest cooking session, Guinness World Record holder Lata Tondon prepared food for more than 100 hours.

Lata’s Instagram page was inundated with comments from online users both supporting and blaming her for losing the record to Hilda Baci.

Lata Tondon, however, has urged calm and asked that Nigerians be patient while waiting for Guinness to formally confirm the record-breaking accomplishment.

Lata Tondon asked Nigerians not to make it a competition in a message posted on her Instagram, emphasizing that her record is still valid up until Guinness rules otherwise.

In her words;

“A humble request to all my brothers and sisters in Nigeria to maintain peace and wait for Guinness to officially announce if the current record is broken or not. “Please don’t make it a competition. It’s just a record my friends. I am a peace loving person and wish the same for you”

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Guinness will address the controversy and provide clarity on the record-breaking claim.
