“Do not suffer a woman to have authority over a man” Reno Omokri criticises Methodist Church for ordaining female bishop

Reno Omokri criticised the Nigerian Methodist Church for ordaining a woman as a bishop for the first time.

Reno questioned which passages in the Bible sanction the ordination of female bishops.

He emphasised that despite having female followers who gave financial support to his mission, Christ did not include women among the 12 apostles.

He added that although Apostle Paul had female supporters who supported his ministry, he did not elevate any of them to the position of elder.

The scripture also provided clear direction regarding women’s roles in the church, he continued.

He cited a passage from the bible that he thinks explains how women should be treated in Christianity: “I do not suffer a woman to gain dominion over a man.”

He added that Christians doing things that are not in accordance with the scriptures is why “Islam will continue to outgrow us.”
