Nigerian legislator Dino Melaye demonstrated today, February 27, in front of the National Collation Center in Abuja.

In order for party representatives present to compare the results to what the Resident Electoral Commissioners from each state are presenting, Dino, the party agent for the PDP, requested that Yakubu Mahmood, the chairman of INEC, permit the results from the states to be displayed on one of the center’s screens.

The chairman ignored his plea, claiming that if there were any irregularities in the results, party agents at the state levels should have raised them at the time.

Dino then proposed requiring party agents to authenticate that the results they are announcing correspond to those that have been published to the INEC website.

Dino shouted for the collation process to be postponed till the collation officials were forced to repeat his intended declaration after the INEC chairman rejected his offer.
