School children escaped death from a ghastly accident as a truck loaded with cows collided with electric high-tension wire.

The accident happened at about 3:30 pm on Monday along Orlu Road Ekwulobia by the entrance gate of Central School Ekwulobia off St John’s Cathedral church, just a few minutes after closing hour of the school.

The ghastly accident involved a truck which was driven by a Hausa man with two other men in the front seat and another Hausa man sitting at the back (almost at the roof) of the open truck with the cows.

Although no life was lost, a middle aged man was said to have lost his left leg as a result of a wooden pole which fell during the incident.
