“Davido had no hand in VeryDarkMan’s planned arrest” – Israel DMW clarifies

Israel DMW, logistics manager to Afrobeats singer Davido, has weighed in on the ongoing feud between the singer and social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM), dismissing claims that his boss was part of any plot to get the activist arrested.

In a statement shared on his Instagram page while addressing Nigerians, Israel insisted that Davido had no hand in Naira Marley’s troubles during the controversy surrounding the death of late singer Mohbad, nor in any alleged plan to have VDM arrested.

He explained that the individuals who were members of the controversial WhatsApp group joined without Davido’s knowledge, instruction, or approval.

“Dearest Nigerians, Oga had no hands in Naira Marley’s ordeals during his trying times in Mohbad’s case or in any plot to see VDM being arrested. Those who were in that WhatsApp group got there without his instructions or approval,” he wrote.

Israel also refuted claims that Davido attempted to acquire Mohbad’s music catalogue or sign the late singer’s associate, Zinoleesky, describing the information allegedly given to VDM as untrue.

He added that Davido refused to bow to pressure from those who wanted him to unfollow Naira Marley on Instagram, noting that the singer chose to allow the police to handle the matter rather than act on rumours.

“Naira and Oga are cool 100 per cent. They even made a hit song. Serious pressure came for Oga then to unfollow Naira on Instagram, but he categorically refused,” he added.

On the reported incident at Naira Marley’s house, Israel clarified that the altercation involved Tolu 30BG, who was then linked to Davido, and one of Naira Marley’s associates.

He dismissed claims that anyone was assaulted during the incident.

His remarks come amid the ongoing public dispute between Davido and VDM, with the activist levelling several allegations about the singer’s alleged involvement in the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
