Gunmen suspected of being cultists kidnapped a construction worker named Wale, then murdered and dumped his body along the Gloryland Drive Expressway in Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

According to his neighbors, the victim was ambushed by armed men on Friday night, March 31, as he was returning home from work along school road in Yenagoa’s Akenpai axis. The abductors then ordered him to drive them to an unknown location in his car. Wale, whose body was discovered on Saturday, April 1, appeared to have died as a result of a gunshot wound.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Asinim Butswat, said the police suspects that the death was cult-related, adding that men of the command have begun an investigation into the incident. He further stated that the corpse had been evacuated to the mortuary for autopsy.
