The brutal death of Chief Oyibo Chukwu, a senatorial candidate for the Labour Party in the Enugu East Senatorial District, and his assistant has drawn harsh condemnation from President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement sent by his media adviser, Femi Adesina, on Friday, February 24, President Buhari expressed his opinion that the individuals responsible for this heinous conduct in Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State, had no regard for human life or dignity.
He believes that the perpetrators merit both divine and natural justice’s wrath.
The President expressed sympathy to the victims’ families, the Labour Party, and the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, while also directing security forces to “hunt down the culprits of this horrific act.”
The President also directed security agencies to “track down the culprits of this heinous crime,” even as he sympathized with the families of the victims, the Labour Party and the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA.
Recall that Chukwu was reportedly killed and set ablaze alongside other party members on Wednesday at Amaechi Awkunanaw, Enugu.
