As she gives her father her AMVCA medal, actress Bimbo Ademoye recalls, “He took me to my first audition.”

She posted a video of herself traveling to her father’s house for the big occasion on her social media platforms.

Bimbo Ademoye, a well-known Nollywood actress, gave her father Adekunle Ademoye the credit for her maiden AMVCA victory.

At the 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA), which was held in Lagos on Saturday, May 20, the actress took home the trophy for “Best Actress in a Comedy” for her part in the popular series “Selina.”

The actress visited her father’s house to give him the AMVCA plaque after she won, making a touching gesture in recognition of her father’s enormous influence on her acting career.

She posted a video of herself traveling to her father’s house for the big occasion on her social media platforms.

She referred to him as her biggest supporter and her “backbone” in her caption, and she related how he drove her to her first audition and patiently waited for her to finish for six hours.

“I went back home to give the award to my dad. He’s my biggest supporter, my rock, my backbone. My Father. Though absent, I knew exactly where he would be. (He loves chilling with the boys in the hood when he’s less busy on Sundays). My dad took me to my first audition and waited for six hours until I was done.

My hood produced all the characters that have made you guys laugh. From Iya Barakat to Todowede to Selina. I’ve had to mimic someone from the hood to give those characters life. My name is Bimbo Ademoye, Ademoye Adekunle’s daughter, Ari’s aunty, and I’m from Ebute Meta. Born and bred in the hood. There are so many people I’d love to appreciate. I’m prepping my speech, guys,” she wrote.
