Armed Robber Caught at Crime Scene After Staying Behind To Eat Victim’s Chicken

A suspect in a robbery who reportedly stole from a guy in Chicago at gunpoint has been detained and charged in court.

James Taylor, age 20, waited at the scene of the crime after the heist to consume the victim’s delicious-looking takeout fried chicken.

Around 1:30 am on Saturday, the victim, 35, was approached by Taylor as he began to walk toward his home in the 4500 block of South Calumet carrying his purchase.

Within minutes of their arrival, Chicago police allegedly discovered the armed robber eating the chicken lunch at the crime site.

According to authorities, Taylor asked the victim for a light but the victim replied he didn’t have one and kept going.

When the victim turned around, the suspect gave him a shoulder tap and pointed a gun at him.

The victim turned up the car keys, a bank note, $2 he had on him and the fried chicken, said prosecutor Kenneth Flesch.

According to Flesch, the car owner dialed 911, and Chicago police showed up shortly as Taylor started eating the fried chicken inside.

He was accused of aggravated unlawful use of weapon, armed robbery with a firearm, possession of a stolen vehicle and illegal use of a debit card.
