Amazing pictures of lightning striking the Christ the Redeemer statue

Beautiful images of lightning striking the Christ the Redeemer statue have surfaced.

Images depict the famous building, which looks down on Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, being illuminated by a meteorite.

Amazing photo of the lightning strike that damaged Rio’s Christ the Redeemer statue, tweeted by @nairamk, who expressed his admiration.

The 125-foot statue’s right thumb was chipped by the storm on Thursday, and the nearby archbishop promised repairs shortly.

Father Omar Raposo said that the church, which built the building in 1931, had a supply of the original stone.

In 2010, Christ the Redeemer had a £2.4 million restoration that included work on its hands and face.

Social media users responded to the image in an absurd way as it became popular. More than 2,15,000 individuals have liked the photographs on Twitter, where they have received over 20 million views, and about 68,000 people have done the same on Instagram.

The user who posted the image on Twitter, Massimo, said, “At this point Zeus or Thor. Jokes aside, this is a pretty recurring phenomenon, being the highest point, it’s simply the luck of having someone performing photography at the same time.”

Some people questioned the validity of the image and claimed that “lighting isn’t truly that difficult to capture these days with 4K video at 60fps or more.” Simply capture the storm on camera, then select the desired frame. Still, that’s a cool picture. Another person commented, “I’d like one of the Statue of Liberty too lol.”
