Actor Okemesi in coma following complications from drugs

Bamidele Tope Saint, also known as Okemesi, a Nollywood comedian and content producer, is said to have gone into a coma due to difficulties from medication used during a prior medical treatment.

In an Instagram post on Monday night, fellow actor Jeff Owolewa, better known by his stage name Tony Montana, revealed the development.

Only a few days ago, Okemesi moved into a new flat that was allegedly rented for him thanks to public backing. The actor had previously applied for financial aid after suffering from a disease that left him without a place to live.

Jeff Owolewa claims that Okemesi was recently readmitted to the hospital due to difficulties that were purportedly caused by medications administered during previous treatment.

He added that after being rejected by multiple institutions, the actor was readmitted to the original hospital where he had previously received treatment and was released last week.

Jeff said that Okemesi is presently in a coma and asked Nigerians to pray and donate money to help pay for his medical care.

“Guys, Okemesi has been hospitalised again. He was sleeping all through Saturday and Sunday without having much appetite for food due to complications from the drugs that were given to him from the hospital when he was discharged last week.

“I rushed to his house very early on Monday to take him to hospital. He was rejected in different hospitals including a government hospital in Igodo, the doctor refused to attend to him saying there’s no bed space. I have to take him back to the first private hospital that started his treatment. So they admitted him, and stabilised him.

“His breathing is improving. So, he has been in coma since Monday morning. They have placed him on oxygen. We’re all praying that he gets back on track.”
