Young and intelligent Khadijah Ceesay, an African from The Gambia who had to balance her studies with taking care of her small son, graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC.

Khadijah, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, thanked everyone for their support and shared her graduation news on Twitter. She added that she had never given up despite facing challenges in school.

Holding her handsome son, Khadijah wrote: “I just want my son to know his mum is resilient and she never gave up! Full time Mum. Full Time Student. & Now Full time Civil Engineer!”

While she was a student at Howard University, she served as president of the Muslim Students’ Association. She also finished an internship in transport engineering at Amazon.

Khadijah also held a position as an M-Fellow at the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. She began working as an engineering intern at Tooles Design in Maryland in June 2022.
