An Oklahoma teacher’s assistant, 22, was detained after having sex with a kid.
Ashley Waffle, a temporary teacher’s assistant employed by Granite Public Schools, started working there on October 10 and began communicating with a 16-year-old on SnapChat on October 25, according to KSWO.
According to the source, school administrators informed authorities about rumours of a student’s relationships with Waffle that were going through the community.
Waffle allegedly had two sexual encounters with the teen at her apartment before November 9 as per court records, according to KSWO.
After being fired on November 10, Waffle now faces two second-degree rape charges that carry a maximum 15-year prison sentence.
She is currently being held at the Greer County jail, according to the outlet.
District superintendent Missy Berry told parents in a letter this week that they were cooperating with law enforcement as their investigation continues.
