Since she graduated from college in 1960, Madeline Elizabeth Adams, a remarkable 80-year-old woman, has fulfilled her lifelong ambition of earning a bachelor’s degree.
Madeline Adams, 80, received a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska in Omaha, United States.
She narrated that she started her studies for the Bachelor’s degree at the university in the year 1960 but encountered some challenges that saw her drop out. “I just want to put a period on something I started back in 1960,” she stated.
Another rationale was offered by Madeline Adams, who stopped attending school in 1960 and graduated from the University of Nebraska in May 2022. She said, “Life occurred,” adding that retirement age had snuck up on her by the time she had three children and job changes that took her out of her immediate environment.
For her grandkids and great-grandchildren, she served as an example of tenacity and fortitude. Her children gave her the drive to finish the job she started so long ago rather than just sit around and do nothing.
“I was through with school and my children encouraged me in these latter years – these curtain years: ‘Momma, you’re not going to be a couch potato,’” she said.
