After being prosecuted before an Abuja local court, two livestock herders who gang-raped a pregnant woman who was eight months along entered a guilty plea.
Cowboy herders gang-raped a woman who was eight months pregnant.
The woman, who was eight months pregnant, was kidnapped from her home in the Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on February 25 by the defendants Nuru Tukur, 21, and Yusufa Haruna, 29, according to the prosecutor, Dabo Yakubu. They then took the woman to a bush where they gang-raped her.
On February 26, one Abubakar Wakili from Yaba in the Abaji Area Council reported the incident to the Gwagwalada Area Command office.
The judge, Malam Abdullahi Abdulkarim, delayed punishment so that he could observe and assess the victim’s health.
He however ordered that they be remanded in a correctional center pending sentencing on March 22.
