Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, awarded Megan Ruth Pete, a 26-year-old American singer better known by her stage as Megan Thee Stallion, a bachelor’s degree.

“I want my big mama to be proud. She saw me going to school before she passed,” she said.

Megan graduated with a bachelor of science degree in health administration. “I’ll be graduating from my HBCU TEXAS SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY!! I want y’all to remember that you can do whatever you wanna do and be whoever you wanna be, cause look at me,” she wrote

Before earning a bachelor’s degree, Megan made a name for herself in the music industry, winning two Grammys for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance in addition to receiving more nominations.

She expressed passion for becoming a health administrator despite her global fame. “I really wanted to be an administrator over a hospital, but I knew I still wanted to be Megan Thee Stallion. I was like, ‘What can I do?” she said.
