A 13-year-old Grade 7 Mbare girl is four months pregnɑnt after she was allegedly rɑped and imprǝgnɑted by her brother.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said the girl was subjected to sexuɑl abuse by her 22-year-old brother from November last year.

He said the girl was found to be four months pregnɑnt at Sally Mugabe Family Support Clinic during a medical examination.

“Police are investigating a case involving a minor child who was rɑped by her sibling aged 22 since last year.”

“Circumstances were that sometime in November 2022, the accused person slǝpt on the complainant’s blankets, while they were watching television.”

“The accused switched off the lights, and covered the complainant’s mouth with the blanket before rɑp!ng her once.

“He threatened to kill the complainant if she disclosed the matter to anyone.”

He added:

“Sometime in December towards Christmas, the accused person came home and found the complainant sleeping in her room.”

“The accused switched off the lights and sneaked into complainant’s blankets and rɑpǝd her once.”

“On March 29, the complainant disclosed the matter to her aunt and the perpetrator is yet to be arrested,” said Insp Chakanza.
