Sadiya Isma’il Uba, a fresh graduate of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, has reportedly d!ed in an auto crash while travelling for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
According to family sources, Sadiya, who graduated with a degree in Medical Microbiology in April 2026, was travelling to Damaturu on her way to Muhammadu Buhari Airport for her flight to Saudi Arabia when the fatal accident occurred on Friday, May 9, 2026.
The late graduate, who hailed from Yobe State, was said to have been preparing to perform Hajj this week and reportedly had wedding plans scheduled for January 2027.
She has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
The university management confirmed the tragic incident in a statement released on Friday, as tributes continue to pour in from friends, relatives, and members of the academic community.
