Ouma believed that having multiple wives made him complete and was a means of honoring his mother.

According to Andrew Ouma, a 77-year-old Kenyan man, he is blissfully wed to seven wives.

The father of 30 said in an interview with Tuko.co.ke that he married his first wife in 1966, when he was just 18 years old, and they have 30 children together.

Ouma believed that having multiple wives made him complete and was a means of honoring his mother.

“Marrying many wives is part of our culture and makes me compete,” he explained.

He added that his mothers had given her blessing to his marriages to his neighbors, who were also his spouses.

He disclosed that he is currently building homes for the remaining three of his wives after having already built homes for four of them. He also gave them each a piece of land.

According to Ouma, his mother was the sixth wife in a polygamous home in which he was born. He claimed that he receives criticism for his polygamy frequently, but he is indifferent.

Ouma, a farmer, expressed his desire to see his grandchildren go to school even though he acknowledged that they are struggling with famine.

He claimed he has been working with a marriage counselor and assisting those in his community.

Andrew Oomua has 30 children and is fortunate to have 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
