Government of Lagos to charge doctor with defiling wife’s 16-year-old niece

He allegedly degraded the victim by exposing her to pornographic media.

Today, November 21, the Medical Director (MD) of the Optimal Cancer Care Foundation (OCCF), Dr. Femi Olaleye, is scheduled to be charged with raping his wife’s 16-year-old niece by the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

After her father passed away, the young girl moved in with Dr. Olaleye and his wife at their home in Lagos State. He was accused of defiling the girl there. He allegedly degraded the victim by exposing her to pornographic media.

He was alleged to have molested the youngster sexually for 19 months prior to his wife finding out and reporting him to the Lagos State Police Command for an inquiry.

Olaleye was detained by the police officers in charge of the inquiry, and the case was then forwarded to the police command’s Gender Unit in March 2022.

A petition asking the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Agency to get involved was submitted after Olaleye’s lack of a valid indictment for the crime.

When Olaleye was recommended for trial, the agency transmitted the case file to the Directorate of Public Prosecution.

In a letter of the report titled:

“State of Lagos vs Dr Olufemi Olaleye”, signed by the Principal State Council of DPP, Mr Oluwagbenga Alagbe, Olaleye will be arraigned in court today.

“Olaleye will be facing a two-count charge of defilement and sexual assault by penetration. He must appear before the honourable court and also make provision for a legal practitioner of his choice,”

You might remember that actress Kate Henshaw accused Dr. Olaleye of committing the aforementioned crime a few months ago. Princess, a well-known comedian who also commented on the issue, charged the police with attempting to hide it.
