Over the weekend, a dispute between two tricycle drivers allegedly led to one of the drivers beating the other to death in the Oke-Aro Community in the Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The unnamed trike driver and his companion reportedly got into a heated debate that turned into a brawl, resulting in one of them collapsing, according to sources. He was revived after being taken to a neighboring clinic, but on Sunday, November 13, he passed away.
The state police command’s spokesperson, SP Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the incident to reporters and said that men from the state command had been ordered to look into it.
“The man was rushed by people around the vicinity of the fight, to a nearby clinic where he was attended to and admitted. The victim collapsed as a result of the fight on Saturday and was confirmed dead early Sunday morning at the hospital.” he said
She said the case was reported at our ‘B’ Division area Headquarters in Akure and an investigation had commenced into the incident.
