Following his shocking interview with Piers Morgan, Manchester United may decide to sever Cristiano Ronaldo’s relationship with the club.
In excerpts from his interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo criticized manager Erik ten Hag and claimed the club had “betrayed” him, adding that he doesn’t “respect” the Dutchman. He also criticized Wayne Rooney, a former teammate, for his unceasing criticism.
David Seligman, a litigation and sports lawyer, tweeted that Ronaldo’s contract might be terminated by United owing to a “serious breach of the implicit duty of trust and confidence.”
He asserts that Ronaldo, 37, may lose his job since United, his employer, no longer has faith in him to the point where it would be practical for him to return to work.
His now-deleted Tweet read: ‘After that interview, Man United would likely have grounds to terminate Ronaldo’s contract – material breach of the implied duty of trust and confidence as well as express terms regarding bringing club into disrepute.’
