Assault: Professor to be remanded in Suleja prison till Oct 5th

Professor Zainab Duke Abiola, a lawyer and human rights activist, has been ordered by an Abuja Chief Magistrate court to remain in the Suleja Correctional facility until the case brought against her by the FCT police command is heard on October 5.

On September 20, Ms. Abiola was detained for reportedly instructing one of her other domestic workers to abuse Inspector Teju Moses, a female orderly.

She was charged this morning with criminal conspiracy, inflicting harm without justification, attempting to commit culpable homicide, and intentionally insulting someone in order to violate their trust.

She was to remain in custody at the Suleja Correctional facility until October 5 per the magistrate court’s judgment.
