Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex people in Nigeria are being urged by gay rights campaigner Bisi Alimi to come out to their parents.
In 2004, on national television, Bisi came out of the closet.
This afternoon, Bisi asked those who were still in the closet to come out in a tweet posted to his account.
”Dear Nigerian LGBTQI+ people, your parents won’t die if you come out; it’s a lie that used to keep you in the closet. You have your life to live; enjoy it.”
