Man arraigned for allegedly applying pepper to 17-year-old private part in Anambra

On September 7th, a 35-year-old man named Odili Chukwuka appeared before the Amawbia, Anambra State Children and Sexual Offences Court for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl.

A nine-count accusation of sexual abuse, unlawful assault, theft, and infliction of bodily harm is leveled against the defendant, who is from Aguluezechukwu in Aguata, Anambra State. When the charge was read to him, he entered a not-guilty plea.

Inspector Anayo Nwano, the prosecutor, informed the court that the crimes were perpetrated on July 28 at Aguluezechukwu.

“The accused and others at large sexually abused a 17-year-old girl by touching and applying pepper to her private part. 

He emotionally abused her and unlawfully assaulted her by stripping her naked, tying her hands and legs, flogging her to stupor with peppered cane and inflicting injuries on her body.

He also deprived her of her liberty and stole her phone with bag containing unidentified sum of money” he said

Chief Magistrate Genevieve Osakwe ordered that the accused be remanded in police custody and adjourned the case until September 21.
