A 21-year-old arrested for allegedly stealing his boss’s car to fund his relocation abroad (photos)

Temple Samuel, age 21, was detained by members of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) for reportedly stealing his boss’ Lexus ES 330 vehicle.

The suspect, who had planned to sell the car with three other people, was apprehended in the Ogba neighborhood of Lagos State along with Benjamin Bassey, 32, Chukwuemeka Okorie, 29, and Joshua Agboche, 37.

According to the investigation, the suspect, who works at his boss’ car wash in Egbeda, drove the car to Bassey’s house in Ikeja in the middle of the night while carrying his boss’ iPhone X and iPhone 13. He also transferred N75,000 fraudulently from his boss’s account.

The suspect had perfected plans to use the proceeds of the sales of the car and other valuables he stole to process his traveling out of the country.

 Confirming his arrest, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has directed that the case be transferred to the State CID, Panti for further investigations and prosecution.
