Police Arrest Cultist Captured On Viral Video Hacking Rival To Death

Jamiu Rasheed, a 22-year-old man suspected of belonging to a cult, was taken into custody by agents of the Lagos State Police Command.

On July 7, 2022, Rasheed was seen on surveillance footage hacking and shooting to death Akinola Ayegbusi, a member of an opposing cult, at a restaurant located in the Alapere neighborhood of Lagos state.

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin (anipr, mipra) Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ikeja – Lagos, investigations showed that Jamiu has been a member of the Klansman Confraternity since 2017 and has taken part in the murder of two other rival cultists.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Hundeyin works for the Lagos State Command in Ikeja, Lagos. The investigation into the murder led to the detention of two members of the cult, Emmanuel Samson and the group’s armorer, Sheriff Module, who was found to be in possession of two locally produced handguns.

Sheriff, who was also a part of the killing, revealed that it was carried out to avenge the murder of their leader, who was killed by the Eiye Confraternity on November 23, 2021.

Ongoing efforts are being made to apprehend additional cult members who have escaped. After the completion of the investigations, the suspects will charged to court.
