Alleged Battery: IGP takes over suspended Anambra LG chairman’s case

Usman Baba, the Inspector General of Police, has taken charge of the alleged battery case involving Mbazulike Iloka, the suspended Chairman of the Nnewi North Local Government Area in Anambra State.

Remember that it was previously reported that the police had detained Mbazulike after his neighbors said he had murdered Chidiebere by beating her to death.

Channels Television reported that the IGP ordered the Commissioner of Police, Homicide Section of the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja, to open an investigation into the case in a letter dated July 16, 2022, and signed by the Principal Staff Officer to the IGP, CP Idowu Owohunwa.

It partly read;

“I write to respectfully inform you that the Inspector-General of Police has directed the Commissioner of Police, Homicide Section of the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja to investigate diligently and furnish a detailed report.”
