JAMB approves 140 as cut-off mark for universities

On Thursday, July 21, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board approved the cut-off scores for the nation’s universities and polytechnics.

The announcement was made following a contentious meeting that included representatives from the National Universities Commission, the Ministry of Education, the National Board for Technical Education, among others.

Oloyede claimed that 100 has been accepted as the cut-off level for polytechnics and monotechnics, and 80 for colleges of education, while 140 was approved as the minimum cut-off mark for universities.

JAMB’s registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, previously revealed that just 378,639 of the 1,761,338 applicants who took the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations received a score of 200 or higher.
