Five suspects arrested as police bust fake CAC registration center in Lagos

A fake Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) center was discovered by Rapid Response Squad (RRS) agents in Jobi Fele Way, Alausa Business District, Alausa, Ikeja.

an SP statement issued Five individuals who were staffing the center, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, state police command spokesperson, were both detained for forgery and impersonating CAC personnel.

According to him, those detained were Gloria Ukaegbu, 28; Omolere Kayode, 30; Taiwo Ajayii, 34; Nwachukwu Brenda; and Oluwatomisin Adebisi, 25.

The center, where multiple forgeries of CAC documents, a Toyota Sienna, and a Toyota Matrix that were utilized as impromptu offices for their illicit dealings were confiscated, according to Hundeyin, was brought there by the Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi.

The police spokesperson said preliminary investigation revealed that the syndicate has swindled hundreds of people through fake CAC registrations. 

He added that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti for further investigations and eventual prosecution..
