15 suspected armed robbers, cultists and drug dealers arrested in Ekiti

A gang of criminals were put under pressure by Ekiti State Police Command agents in the Atikankan neighborhood of Ado-Ekiti.

In a statement on Tuesday, July 19, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abutu Sunday, claimed that during an operation on July 13 by members of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), fifteen suspected drug dealers, armed robbers, and cultists were detained.

Musa Madaki, 35 years old; Abdullahi Umar, 25 years old; Shola Adeyemi, 43 years old; Hawalu Ali, 45 years old; Usman Amisu, 30 years old; Haruna Usman, 20 years old; Yanusa Abubakar, 25 years old; Usman Lawali, 20 years old; Ajayi Opeyemi, 19 years old; Toheeb Isa, 21 years old; Ajiboye Michael, 19

Items recovered from the suspects are two locally made single barrel guns, two battle axes, two locally made pistols, and some wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp. 

The suspects confessed to be members of armed robbery gang, illicit drug dealers and cultists.

DSP Abutu added that the suspects shall be arraigned accordingly as soon as investigation is concluded.
