64 high-profile escapees from the most recent raid on the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Center in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja have been listed as wanted by the Nigerian Correctional Service.
According to information provided by the Service Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Umar, the fugitives are terrorists affiliated with the Boko Haram organization.
879 of the 994 detainees were able to escape when gunmen believed to be Boko Haram terrorists raided the Kuje Custodial Centre on Tuesday night while utilizing high explosives and firearms. According to the authorities, 64 of the escaping prisoners are Boko Haram members.
The Service reports that over 443 prisoners have been recaptured thus far.
