A residential structure in the Ikoyi district of Lagos State was damaged by fire today, June 15, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, said LASEMA quickly dispatched officials from its response team to the scene as soon as it was reported. He did not confirm if anyone was killed or injured in the inferno that occurred along the Ilabere Road in Ikoyi.
A LASEMA team is working with officials from the Lagos State Fire Service to put out the fire, which appears to be spreading swiftly to nearby structures.
The statement read;
The Lagos state emergency management agency, LASEMA, has activated its response team to the above location.
A combined team of agency LRT and the Lagos State Fire Service are taking immediate action to quell the residential fire which appears to be spreading rapidly to adjoining properties.
