In Ngbabor, near Ebonyi State University’s Presco campus in Abakaliki, a five-story tower under construction has fallen.
On Tuesday, June 7 at around 2:00 p.m., construction workers reportedly dashed out of the building seconds before it fell.
According to a local, construction workers rushed out of the building as soon as it began to tremble before it fell.
During a news conference on Wednesday, June 8, Chris Anyanwu, the State Police Command’s spokesperson, confirmed the incident, claiming “no casualty was recorded.”
Meanwhile, government experts have inspected the fallen structure in order to discover the cause of the disaster. On the scene, there were also police officers and Ebubeagu operatives.
For their own safety, government officials warned locals in the neighborhood not to get any closer to the unfinished work.
