Man arraigned in court after stealing skull from a Lagos cemetery

Ebuka Enuma, 38, was charged before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ court in Lagos on Tuesday, May 31, for allegedly possessing a human skull.

On May 13, the suspect, who lives in Lagos’ Bariga neighborhood, is believed to have stolen the skull after breaking into Amukoko Cemetery and excavating an old burial.

Enuma was apprehended while attempting to escape the cemetery, according to Prosecution Counsel ASP Rita Momah.

According to her, the offense is in violation of Section 238 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015. (Revised).

Chief Magistrate Adeola Adedayo granted the suspect bail in the sum of N300,000 with two responsible sureties shortly after he pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.

The case was then adjourned till June 28 for mention.
