A couple from Abuja has spoken out about how family planning contraceptives failed them.
Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Agbo, who live in Sabon-Tasha, Gwagwa, Abuja, utilized contraception to avoid having more children than their five children, but recently welcomed quadruplets.
The quadruplets were born on Thursday, May 26 2022 at a private clinic in Kubwa, Abuja.
Mr. Agbo revealed that he and his wife, Mercy, decided not to have any more children after having five. As a result, his wife began family planning and was prescribed contraception.
His wife had implant contraceptive surgery at a local health institution where they lived, he revealed. They also took medications from a pharmacy to enhance their diet.
Despite their efforts, the wife became pregnant and gave birth to four babies at the same time.
Read what Agbo told DailyTrust below;
“But despite all these, she conceived and was confirmed to be carrying four babies after a scan. We then visited the Kubwa General Hospital where she had a second scan and the same thing was confirmed; even with the expected date of delivery next month.
“We had to rush back last Thursday as she started observing signs of delivery. She gave birth to the four babies without any operation.”
The chief medical consultant of the hospital, Dr Onogwu Joseph, on his part said this words below;
“I am not aware of the said use of contraception by the mother of the quadruplets. But I presume that if it had been properly used it should not have led to that.”
