In separate incidents in Benue State, suspected Fulani herdsmen killed two members of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and three others.
On Friday, April 29, security officers were killed, along with the driver of the state livestock guards commander, while on duty in the Wadata axis of Makurdi Local Government Area, while peasants were hacked to death in the state’s Logo LGA.
The NSCDC soldiers were confronted by armed invaders who opened fire on them, according to a resident who talked to Daily Trust.
According to a community leader, the other two victims were attacked while working on a project at Tse Tume in Logo’s Turan council ward on Thursday evening.
The community leader gave their names as Terkende Injarwua and Mfaiga Ukor, adding that their corpse had been recovered and buried on Friday.
