Four Police Officers Arrested and Detained For Killing Vigilante Member In Edo

The Edo state police command has arrested and detained four of their officers over the death of one vigilante member, Ikponwonsa Aikpitanyi.

According to BBC News Pidgin, the vigilante member was trying to stop a woman from disposing refuse on the road before police officers who tried to intervene in the matter allegedly shot the 27-year-old Aikpitanyi.

Commissioner of police Abutu Yaro ordered the arrest and detention of the officers after the incident that happened at Obaze Street, off Ewah Road, Benin city.
