Explosion Rock Drinking Joint In Taraba Cattle Market, 3 Dead, 19 Others Injured (Photos)

Three people have been reported dead as a result of a bomb explosion that rocked a drinking joint at a cattle market in Iware Community, a suburb of Taraba State’s Ardo-Kola Local Government Area.

At least 19 more people have been confirmed injured and are undergoing care at local and regional health facilities.

In a telephone interview with Channels Television, Police Public Relations Officer Abdullahi Usman confirmed this.

He highlighted that this is the second time such an explosion has occurred, with the first occurring a month ago at a catholic school in Mutum Biyu, the seat of Gassol Local Government Area, 30 kilometers apart.

Security officers have been dispatched to the location, according to Usman, to begin an inquiry and defuse the tension that has already been created.

Iware Community is well-known for its cattle market, which draws buyers from all over Nigeria and neighboring Cameroon every Tuesday to make low-cost purchases.

A third party observer Sunday Pantuvo, who narrowly escaped injury, claimed the alleged bomber entered the bar with a friend, ordered a drink, and then exited in separate directions.

The alleged bomber later returned, paid for the drink and dropped a polythene bag which is said to contain the explosive and stepped aside.

Few minutes later, he said he was going in search of his friend and seconds after the bomb exploded.

Pantuvo said one of the suspected bombers was later caught and killed by the angry residents who cut his body into parts in anger.
