Peter Nwachukwu, the late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu’s husband, denies assaulting her.

Peter Nwachukwu, the widower of late gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu, has rejected accusations that he abused her while she was alive.

Osinachi passed away on Friday, April 8th, after supposedly being in a coma for five days. Her husband, who was a lead singer at the Dunamis International Headquarters in Abuja, allegedly subjected her to domestic violence, according to her family, children, and friends.

The FCT police command seized Nwachukwu on Sunday, April 10 on suspicion of culpable homicide.

Nwachukwu revealed, while in police detention, that his late wife had been battling an illness since November of last year. He transported her to the Federal Medical Center (FMC), then to Gwagwalada General Hospital, and finally to National Hospital, where she died, according to him. He did not, however, disclose the nature of her sickness.

Nwachukwu was handcuffed and transported to their matrimonial house by the State Criminal Investigations Department SCID to produce evidence of the hospitals he claimed to have taken his deceased wife to for treatment.

Today, April 13, an autopsy will be performed on late Osinachi’s body to discover the reason of her death.
