Policemen reject N500,000 bribe, seize busload of drugs

In the Mile Two region of Lagos state, police officials from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) captured a commercial bus loaded with illegal substances.

The police officers claimed they turned down a bribe offer of N500,000 from suspected drug traffickers. The bus, with the registration number AGL205YD, was intercepted around 4 a.m. on its way to Mushin and allegedly belongs to one Alhaji, also known as General in Mushin.

The drugs intercepted had a street worth of roughly N10 million, according to state police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin. He also revealed that the suspects admitted to transporting the drugs from Alaba Rago to Mushin around 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 2.

Two suspects identified as Ojukwu Omanogho, 36, and Hope Jumbo, 40 were arrested with the bus. It was also gathered that one Oluwole Omojuyitan, 40, who fled the scene on a motorcycle, returned with N500,000 bribe for the police team but was also arrested.
